How can I Join the ensemble?
If you have previous training in Chinese instrumental performance, or you are a percussionist or cellist, we'd love to have you play with us! Send us an email at info@chinesemusicensemble.org with a brief background, and we'll be in touch.

Rehearsals take place around a month before concerts, and attendance at all rehearsals is required.
Where can I buy Chinese Instruments?
This one's a bit tough in the tri-state area -- Oriental Culture Enterprises, a bookstore in NYC, usually stocks smaller instruments like erhu, dizi, xiao, pipa, and suona, and often has guzheng on hand as well. There are a few online sellers on eBay, but it's definitely a buyer beware world out there.
I want to learn an instrument -- can you put me in touch with a teacher?
We sure can! Please visit our Education Program page to see the information. If the instrument you want to learn is not on that page, please Send us an email detailing the instrument and your background (if any), and we can try and find the right teacher for you. We have teaching artists for the following instruments:
  • Erhu
  • Dizi
  • Guzheng
  • Pipa
  • Ruan
  • Sheng
I'm a teacher/Event Organizer -- can you come to my school and present a workshop?
We would love to! Educational outreach is one of our core missions. Send us an email and we can work out details.
