Bowed-string Instruments
Huqin is the generic term for Chinese bowed-string instruments, a family which, according to written records alone, number more than thirty. The configuration of the Chinese Music Ensemble of New York incorporates the erhu, gaohu, zhonghu, gehu and bass gehu.
The Orchestra may also incorporate other types of bowed-string instruments such as the banhu, jinghu, yehu and leiqin depending on the repertory.
中國的拉弦樂器有文字記載的多達三十六種以上,一般統稱為胡琴。胡琴有二胡、高胡、中胡、革胡及低音革胡。此外,樂團亦會隨樂曲的需要採用其他不同形制的拉弦樂器,如板胡、京胡、椰胡、擂琴等。
